During the closure period a display in the window of one of the unoccupied units in St Martins Walk shopping centre is reminding the public of the Museum’s existence, its history, the reason for the present closure and the hopes and plans for the future. Several history of Dorking books published by the Museum and the Local History Group are on display and a prominent notice announces that copies may be purchased from Fothergills Coffee Lounge. The Museum Committee is indebted to Mr Ashley Baker, proprietor of Fothergills and Mr Rice, manager of St Martins Walk, for their kind cooperation.
